The Polkadot Blockchain Academy has unveiled its latest initiative, PBA-X, designed to equip aspiring Web3 professionals with essential blockchain knowledge. Set to commence on January 6, 2025, this part-time, cohort-based online course spans four weeks and is tailored for individuals at all experience levels, particularly beginners.

 

Overview of PBA-X

PBA-X aims to democratize access to blockchain education, making it flexible and accessible for learners worldwide. The program is structured to provide a systematic introduction to blockchain technology, focusing on the Polkadot ecosystem and its unique features.

Participants will engage with a curriculum that includes:

  • Cryptography: Understanding the foundational principles that secure blockchain networks.

  • Blockchain Economics: Exploring the economic models that underpin blockchain technologies.

  • Governance: Learning about the decision-making processes within blockchain networks.

  • Polkadot SDK: Gaining insights into the tools and frameworks used for developing on the Polkadot platform.

 

Learning Experience

The PBA-X course is designed to be engaging and interactive. Each module consists of:

  • Pre-recorded Lectures: Professionally produced content that participants can access at their convenience.

  • Weekly Live Classes: Opportunities for real-time interaction with instructors and peers.

  • Assessments: Multiple-choice tests to evaluate understanding and retention of the material.

This structure not only facilitates learning but also fosters a sense of community among participants, allowing them to connect and collaborate.

 

Support for Beginners

Recognizing the barriers that many face when entering the blockchain space, PBA-X is particularly focused on supporting those without a technical background. According to Pauline Cohen Vorms, CEO of Polkadot Blockchain Academy, the course aims to dispel the myth that blockchain is overly complex and inaccessible.

Vorms stated, "If you have the right learning platform and are willing to put in the work, you can rapidly accelerate your knowledge to become comfortable with the technology."
