Financial Advisers Embrace Crypto: 56% More Likely to Invest After Trump Win

By DarshitaNewcomer0 rep· 1/10/2025

A recent survey reveals a significant shift in the attitudes of financial advisers towards cryptocurrency following Donald Trump's election victory. The survey, conducted by Bitwise Asset Management and VettaFi, indicates that 56% of advisers are now more inclined to invest in crypto, reflecting a growing acceptance of digital assets in wealth management strategies.

Key Takeaways

  • 56% of financial advisers are more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies due to Trump's election.

  • The proportion of advisers allocating to crypto has doubled to 22% in 2024.

  • 71% of advisers report that their clients are already investing in cryptocurrencies independently.

  • Regulatory uncertainty remains a significant barrier to broader crypto adoption.

Surge in Adviser Interest

The survey, which included responses from 430 financial advisers between November 14 and December 20, highlights a notable increase in interest towards cryptocurrencies. The percentage of advisers allocating cryptocurrency for clients has risen from 11% last year to 22% in 2024. This change is largely attributed to the anticipated pro-crypto policies of the new administration.

Jack Mallers, CEO of Strike, suggested that Trump might issue an executive order to designate Bitcoin as a U.S. reserve asset, further fueling optimism among advisers.

Client Demand for Crypto

The survey also revealed that 96% of advisers received inquiries from clients about cryptocurrencies in the past year. This growing client interest presents a unique opportunity for advisers to integrate crypto into their wealth management strategies. Among those already investing in cryptocurrencies, nearly all (99%) plan to maintain or increase their exposure this year.

Barriers to Adoption

Despite the positive sentiment, access to cryptocurrencies remains a significant hurdle. Only 35% of advisers reported being able to purchase cryptocurrencies within client accounts. Additionally, regulatory uncertainty continues to be a primary concern, with 50% of advisers citing it as the top obstacle to future investments in crypto.

Future Outlook

The findings from the Bitwise survey indicate a transformative moment for financial advisers as they increasingly recognize the potential of cryptocurrencies. With the anticipated changes in regulatory frameworks and the growing acceptance of digital assets, advisers are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of crypto investments.

As the landscape evolves, it will be essential for advisers to stay informed and adapt their strategies to meet the changing demands of their clients. The shift towards a more crypto-friendly environment could lead to significant growth in the adoption of digital assets in the coming years.
