Non-fungible token (NFT) sales have experienced a significant surge, climbing 37.41% to reach $88.29 million from the previous week's $65.58 million. This impressive growth is largely attributed to the burgeoning popularity of Bitcoin's BRC-20 tokens, which have propelled Bitcoin to the forefront of NFT sales volume, surpassing Ethereum.

Key Takeaways

  • NFT sales volume jumped 37% to $88.3 million, with a notable increase in both buyers and sellers.

  • $X@AI BRC-20 NFTs led the market with a record-breaking $17.1 million sale.

  • Bitcoin has overtaken Ethereum as the top blockchain for weekly NFT sales.

BRC-20 NFTs Drive Market Expansion

The NFT market saw a substantial increase in participation, with the number of buyers rising by 22.90% to 342,044 and sellers increasing by 24.17% to 242,004. Total NFT transactions also saw a healthy jump of 10.54%, reaching 937,495.

The $X@AI BRC-20 NFT collection on the Bitcoin blockchain emerged as the top performer, generating $23.14 million in sales, marking an extraordinary 1,099.81% surge. This surge was driven by highly concentrated, high-value trading, evidenced by just 12 transactions involving 12 buyers and 12 sellers.

Other notable collections include DMarket on the Mythos blockchain, which secured second place with $6.04 million, and YES BOND on BNB, which climbed to third with $2.72 million. CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins also featured in the top five, with sales of $2.69 million and $2.39 million, respectively.

Bitcoin Surpasses Ethereum in NFT Sales

Bitcoin has claimed the leading position among blockchains for NFT sales, with a total volume of $29.95 million, a remarkable 144.41% increase from the prior week. The network recorded $44,381 in wash trading, bringing its total to $29.99 million, and saw a 25.29% rise in buyers to 11,948.

Ethereum, previously the dominant chain, dropped to second place with $27.57 million in sales, an increase of 39.08%. BNB Chain maintained its third position with $7.00 million in sales, while Mythos Chain and Immutable followed, with sales of $6.17 million and $3.26 million, respectively. Base blockchain also showed significant growth, surging 111.10% to $3.11 million.

Record-Breaking Sales Highlight Bitcoin's NFT Potential

A single $X@AI BRC-20 NFT sale shattered records, fetching $17.13 million (equivalent to 195.0081 BTC). This was followed by two other substantial $X@AI BRC-20 NFT sales, one at $4.70 million (53.1894 BTC) and another at $1.32 million (15.0071 BTC), underscoring the immense value being transacted on the Bitcoin network.
