Vaulta (fka EOS) Node Operator Meeting: $EOS to $A Token Swap Launch And Contract Migration

On May 14, 2025, the Vaulta (formerly known as EOS) Node Operator Meeting took place, marking a significant milestone with the official launch of the Vaulta $A token. This meeting covered the details of the $EOS to $A token swap, the introduction of the core.vaulta contract, and the ongoing migration process for developers. It also addressed various concerns raised by the community, ensuring a smooth transition and future of the Vaulta ecosystem.

Key Takeaways

• The Vaulta $A token swap began on May 14, 2025, with a 1:1 conversion rate from $EOS to $A.

• Most exchanges and block producers support the swap, making it easy for users without needing to take action.

• The core.vaulta contract allows for inline swaps and maintains compatibility with existing EOSIO functions.

• A seamless upgrade was achieved without a hard fork, showcasing strong coordination within the community.

• Developers can easily migrate to core.vaulta with minimal adjustments, and new reward claiming features are being introduced.

Vaulta Token $A Officially Launched

Okay, so the big news from the Vaulta meeting is that the $A token is officially live! The swap from the old $EOS to the new $A token started today, May 14, 2025, after the MSIG was executed. It's a 1:1 conversion, so one $EOS gets you one $A. The tokenomics are staying the same, which is good.

If you're holding your tokens yourself, you can use the portal at swap.vaulta.com to do the swap. If you're using a centralized exchange (CEX), you don't have to do anything. The exchanges will handle the swap automatically.

Here's a quick rundown:

• The swap is live as of today.

• It's a 1:1 swap.

• If you use a CEX, they'll do it for you.

Broad Support from Exchanges and Stakeholders

It's a big deal when you're launching a new token, and Vaulta seems to have lined up some solid support. Most block producers gave the thumbs up, signing the MSIG, and Binance confirmed they'd be on board right on launch day. That's pretty reassuring.

Here's what we know:

• Exchanges are expected to make announcements about the transition as we get closer to Bitcoin Las Vegas. So, keep an eye out for those.

• The swap from $EOS to $A is designed to be ongoing. There's no rush; you can convert your tokens whenever you're ready.

• The fact that major players are involved suggests a smooth transition for everyone holding the token.

Core.Vaulta Contract Wraps EOSIO Functions

The core.vaulta contract is a pretty important piece of the puzzle. It essentially acts as a middleman, wrapping around existing EOSIO functions but using the new $A token. Think of it like this: it takes the old EOSIO actions and updates them to work with the new token.

What does this mean in practice?

• System actions like powerup, buyram, and sellram are now supported through core.vaulta. This is a big deal because it means these core functions are now directly integrated with the $A token.

• EOSIO still handles governance stuff. Things like registering a block producer (regproducer) remain on the EOSIO side. So, it's not a complete takeover, but more of a strategic integration.

• The contract mirrors EOSIO actions and performs inline swaps using the $A token. It's designed to make the transition smooth and keep things running efficiently.

Self-Upgrading Chain Demonstrates Coordination Strength

It's pretty cool how the Vaulta chain pulled off this upgrade. No hard fork was needed; the whole thing was done smoothly using smart contracts.

Think about it:

• Seven to eight months of planning, coding, and getting the word out. That's a long time!

• This rebrand? It wraps up a four-year move to doing things on their own.

• It shows what can happen when everyone works together.

Developer Guidance on Contract Migration

So, the Vaulta team is making it pretty straightforward for developers to shift their apps over to core.vaulta. The goal is to keep any necessary changes to a minimum.

Here's what developers need to keep in mind:

• Good news: backward compatibility is still a thing. If you've got older integrations, they should still work.

• For those ready to jump in, applications can upgrade to core.vaulta with minimal changes.

• Got questions or need help? The Vaulta Developers Telegram group is the place to be: https://t.me/vaultadevelopers. Seriously, hit them up if you're stuck.

New Claim Rewards Action Introduced

The Vaulta team has rolled out a new core.vaulta::claimrewards action. This replaces the old eosio version. The big change is that it automatically converts any claimed $EOS tokens into the new $A token.

Here's what you need to know:

• It's not mandatory yet. You don't have to switch over immediately.

• However, it's highly recommended that developers start migrating their scripts to use the new action.

• Updated documentation is coming soon, so keep an eye out for that.

• This is part of the broader effort to transition everything to the $A token.

Basically, if you're claiming rewards, this new action makes the process smoother and gets you $A tokens directly. It's a good idea to get on board sooner rather than later.

Oracle Support and Price Feed Updates in Progress

Oracle support and price feed updates are currently being worked on. The community is discussing Delphi Oracle pairings for the $A token. Updates regarding this will be shared in the Vaulta Developers group. It's something they're actively looking into, so keep an eye out for more information soon. It sounds like they're trying to get all the pieces in place to make sure the $A token has solid oracle support. This is important for a few reasons:

• Accurate price data: Oracles provide the real-time price information needed for various DeFi applications.

• Smart contract functionality: Many smart contracts rely on oracles to trigger actions based on price movements.

• Ecosystem stability: Reliable price feeds help maintain the overall health and stability of the Vaulta ecosystem.

Pre-Meeting Q&A Highlights Developer Concerns

Before the Vaulta Node Operator Meeting, a Q&A session addressed some key worries from developers. It seems like there was some confusion about how the $EOS to $A token swap would actually work, and what it meant for existing systems.

• One big point that came up was the fact that $EOS and $A tokens will exist side-by-side for a little while, especially when it comes to certain system functions. This is good news, as it allows for a smoother transition.

• The plan is to eventually make $A the main token, and the swap is designed to be bi-directional for about four months. This gives everyone time to adjust.

• The core.vaulta contract is interesting because it still uses EOSIO under the hood, but it's set up to handle $A tokens directly. This means that developers don't have to rewrite everything from scratch, which is a relief, I'm sure.

Final Thoughts on the Vaulta Node Operator Meeting

In summary, the Vaulta Node Operator Meeting on May 14, 2025, marked a significant milestone for the project. The launch of the $A token and the core.vaulta contract represents the culmination of years of work and planning. The swap from $EOS to $A is now live, with a straightforward 1:1 conversion rate, and users can easily manage their tokens through the provided portal. The support from exchanges and the community has been strong, ensuring a smooth transition. Developers have clear guidance for migrating their applications, and the introduction of new features like the claim rewards action shows ongoing innovation. As the ecosystem evolves, both $EOS and $A will coexist for a while, allowing for a gradual shift to the new token. Overall, this meeting sets the stage for Vaulta's future as it continues to grow and adapt.
